DDC Budgam reviews Swachh Survekshan preparedness

BUDGAM, JULY 30: District Development Commissioner Budgam, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, today convened a meeting of officers from Revenue, Rural Development and Municipal Committees to review preparedness for Swachh Survekshan Grameen in the district.

Among others the meeting was attended by ADDC Budgam Khurshid Ahmad Sanai, SDMs, DPO, BDOs, Tehsildars, MC and Eos of all Municipal Committees of the district.

The DDC directed the concerned to ensure cleanliness in towns and villages and stressed upon them to mobilize their field functionaries so that proper sanitation and cleanliness is ensured in all the towns and villages of the district.

For achieving effective results, the DDC directed Tehsildars and BDOs to conduct awareness camps in the villages, Anganwadi centres, and Health institutions in consultation with Village Level Committees, Moulvis of Masjids, ICDS, Health, Rural Development departments, Numberdars and locals.

She directed all the departments to ensure coordination in their efforts taken under SBM and other cleanliness drives. She asked the officers to sensitize their field functionaries and educate the people about the goals of SBM and about segregation of solid and liquid wastes. Further she directed them to educate people about bio degradable and recyclable wastes.

Earlier, progress under SBM was reviewed threadbare in the meeting by ADDC. It was brought out that 94.43 % of households have been covered till date. Speaking on the occasion the ADDC directed the concerned to work in mission mode and in unison so that the set targets are achieved well before the stipulated period.
