Baramulla :Militants on Saturday  late evening attacked an army camp in Seelu area  in the outskirts of Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A top police official said that the militants opened fire on army’s 22 RR camp at Seelu on Sopore-Kupwara highway.

“Army retaliated the fire. However, no reports of injuries was reported in the incident,” he said.

Sources said that the militants initially lobbed a grenade and then resorted to firing.

Sources said that the army and other paramilitary forces immediately after the attack launched a search operation, however, no arrests were reported.

Meanwhile, forces continued cordon and search operations in various parts  north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Sources said that Army’s 52 RR, Special Operation Group (SOG) of police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation at Rather Mohalla area of Delina and sealed all entry and exit points in the area.

Officials sources said that on a specific input about the presence of militant movement in the area CASO was launched.

House to house search was  underway when last reports came in, sources added.
