Advisor Ganai visits SPS Library

SRINAGAR, JULY 25 – Advisor to the Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, today inspected the SPS Library to take firsthand appraisal of the to-date status of the ongoing works as well as the shifting of the books and peripherals to the new premises at Maulana Azad Road here.

Among others Secretary Libraries M Saleem Shishgar, Deputy Director Libraries and other officials accompanied the minister during his visit.

The Advisor went around the premises which included the Reading Room, Senior Citizens’ Section, General Philosophy & Languages section and the Children’s gallery.  He asked the Commissioner/ Secretary, Culture, to ensure availability of books and other reference material required for students so that they can prepare better for various competitive exams including AIEEE, NEET, NET, SLET, besides civil services.

The Advisor interacted with the aspiring students and advised them to study hard and take benefit from the rich the treasure trove of books, research and reference material available.  He suggested to the Commissioner/ Secretary Culture to consider the requisitions for the books from the students, especially reading material which shall help the students to prepare for the cut-throat competitions ahead.
