DC Kulgam reviews I-Day arrangements

KULGAM, JULY 24: Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Dr Shameem Ahmad Wani today convened a meeting to review the preparedness and arrangements put in place by different departments for Independence Day celebrations in the district.

The meeting was informed that the main function of the celebrations will be held at District Police Lines, Kulgam, where the chief guest of the day will hoist the National Flag followed by inspection of parade and taking of the salute.

It was said that while the march-past will be presented by contingents of JKP, CRPF, District Police, Fire and Emergency, Forest Protection Force, Police Band, Home Guard, and students from different educational institutions will participate in the colorful cultural programmes.

During the meeting, the DC constituted a team of officers to oversee the preparedness at all levels for the smooth and successful conduct of I-Day celebrations headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner. He also directed for ensuring first aid arrangements among other required arrangements for participants in the celebrations.

The DC also instructed the concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted drinking water and power supplies to the venue on the day of I-Day celebrations.

ADC, ACR, ACD, SDM Noorabad, all Tehsildars, Xens of R&B, PHE, PDD, RDD and other district and sectoral officers of the district were present in the meeting.
