Encounter breaks out near LoC in Kupwara

Srinagar, Jul 21: A gunfight broke out between militants and the government forces near the Line of Control (LoC) in Tanghdar area of frontier district of Kupwara in north Kashmir on Saturday.

The Army’s 6 Gadhwal and a group of militants had a stand-off in the dense woods of Balthedyan along the LoC adjacent to Tony Post today morning, reported GNS news agency.

SSP Kupwara Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar confirmed that an exchange of fire took place in Balthadiyan area near Tony post.
