Advisor Ganai distributes certificates among wheelchair basketball players

SRINAGAR, JULY 19: The Advisor to Governor, Khursheed Ahmed Ganai today distributed certificates among the participants who took part in the three-day training workshop for wheelchair basketball players of the State.

During his interaction with the organizers and the players, the Advisor was informed that the workshop was organized by Voluntary Medicare Society (VMS) in collaboration with Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India.

It was further revealed that more than 30 wheelchair basketball players completed their training during the workshop.

Enthralled to see the enthusiasm of the participants, the Advisor said that physical activity, especially any form of sport, helps the individuals to not only face the challenges but to set a new benchmark for themselves.

Applauding the role VMS, the Advisor said initiatives like these helps to make the society more inclusive and greatly help in making specially-abled people strong, both mentally as well as physically.

Later, the Advisor also visited the different department of VMS and assured all the possible help from the Government.
