Kargil, Jul 15:   Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday  termed the state’s present political phase crucial,  and asked people to remain united by not allowing the vested interests to exploit them and barter their aspirations for the petty power gains.

Addressing peoples’ rallies at Kargil ahead of the slated polls for Hill Development Council, several PDP leaders underscored the need to strengthen the party on the ground in midst of the assaults being launched against it by nefarious elements with a sole objective to undermine and suppress its just and earnest voice.

Several rallies in Kargil were addressed on Sunday by Jammu and Kashmir State legislative council Chairman Haji Inayat Ali, party legislators Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Aijaz Mir, Firdous Tak, Yawar Mir besides several other party functionaries and leaders.

While addressing people, the PDP leadership in unison impressed upon the need to foil the villainous designs of the vested interests who are hellbent to weaken the PDP- a party which was built by the common masses for the representation of their aspirations and addressal of their woes.

The party leaders stated further it has now been dawned upon all across the political spectrum of the country as well as the state that PDP shall never barter the peoples aspirations for power and that the party has been in the forefront ever since its inception, pitching for peace, tranquility and a dignified life for the people of Jammu and Kashmir at large. “The party founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed deserted all his comforts and decided to trek the perilous path with a sole reason to get his strife-torn people out of the uncertain times and strengthen their beliefs in the institutions of justice and FairPlay,”  legislative council Chairman Haji Inayat Ali said in his address.

Other leaders who addressed the massive crowds in the landlocked Kargil region seconded his views, asserting that PDP was never only a mere political party, striving hard to grab power, but is a pedestal of hope for the perturbed people of the state who have been yearning for change and want betterment in the lives of state’s future generations. “The attempts to suppress the PDP aren’t going to succeed ever as such turbulences are temporary and have only exposed people with hidden, nefarious agendas before the masses. The party shall continue to tread the path shown to it by its founder and wouldn’t hesitate to render more sacrifices when it comes to protecting the dignity and honour of the people of the state,” PDP leaders said in their address.
