Srinagar, Jul 13: Vice-Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Wakf Board Nizamuddin Bhat on Friday tendered his resignation.

Bhat, who is a senior PDP leader, met Governor N N Vohra and submitted his resignation.

“I met governor and submitted my resignation,” said Bhat.

All 27 political appointees had resigned earlier except the Vice-Chairman of Wakf Board as his appointment is regulated by Section-9 of the Jammu and Kashmir Specified Wakafs and Specified Wakaf Properties (Management and Regulation) Act, 2004, the government said on Wednesday.
