“Shaheed Burhan is a role model   and his martyrdom is a mile stone and an inspiration for generations to come,” Geelani said.

Meanwhile, a JKLF spokesman in a statement said that Burhan Wani represents the undying spirit of resistance, steadfastness and valor of Kashmiri nation.

JKLF spokesman said that Burhan’s struggle and sacrifice marks the continuity of the legacy left behind by great martyrs like Muhammad Maqbool Butt Shaheed and Ishfaq Majeed Wani. Terming Burhan Wani as a symbol of Kashmiri resistance, he said that a budding young boy was forced to tread the path of armed resistance.

The spokesman also condemned the continuous detention of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and others.
