Srinagar: The body of a policeman who was abducted by suspected militants from his native village in Shopian district on late Thursday evening was found in neighboring district Kulgam on Friday morning.
An official said that two to three suspected militants abducted the police Constable namely Javid Ahmad Dar alias Judge Dar son of Abdul Hamid Dar near his residence in Vehil village of Shopian around late last evening.
Dar was taken to an unknown destination, the official said.
Today morning the bullet-riddled body of the cop was found at Pariwan village in neighboring Kulgam district, he said.
The officer said that a police team immediately reached the spot and the body has been taken for medico-legal formalities.
