Srinagar, Jul 01: Hundreds of people Sunday joined the family and relatives of a slain militant in Srinagar’s Barzulla area for a protest march to demand his mortal remains.

Some Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leaders including Mohammad Ashraf Laya, Umer Adil Dar and Ishfaq Ah Khan also participated in the protest march at Eidgah Barzulla to demand the body of Mudasir Ahmad, who was killed in an encounter with government forces in Kupwara on Friday.

“Amid pro-freedom slogans TeH leaders while addressing the gathering, paid tributes to slain Mudasir and expressed solidarity with his family. Leaders demanded the return of the body of Mudasir to his family,” TeH said in a statement here.

“They also said that the unparalleled sacrifices rendered by Kashmiris for the freedom cause would not be allowed to go waste,” the statement said.
