JKLF leader Sheikh Abdul Rashid while addressing protesters said despite issuing open death threats to valley based journalists government didn’t bothered to take any action against Chowdhry Lal Singh.

“He openly supported murderers of one of the great journalists of Kashmir, Syed Shujaat Bukhari and issued death threats to journalists. This means Lal Singh knows who assassinated Bukhari,” he added.

Another senior leader of Hurriyat Conference (M) Hakeem Abdul Rashid while condemning Lal Singh’s remarks against journalists demanded stringent action against him for harassing and intimidating fourth estate.

The protesters before being dispersed also condemned fresh NIA raids and implication of innocent people in Kashmir. They said NIA is being used as a tool to suppress the ongoing resistance movement and freedom loving people as well.

Meanwhile, JRL leaders Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a Joint statement issued today have strongly condemned the ongoing “oppression in Kashmir.”

“After mass uprising of 2016, Indian leadership with the active support of its local stooges and biased media launched a vicious maligning campaign against resistance leadership and used NIA and ED to suppress it but all their efforts failed to defeat the valor of Kashmiris. Now once again NIA and ED intimidation has been started and a fresh FIR by NIA has been filed against ailing Syeda Asiya Andrabi who is already in jail since many months,” said the statement.

Asking international community to intervene, JRL said that recently an inspiring report was released by UN human rights commission regarding human rights abuses in Jammu Kashmir. “We want to urge UN human rights council that is in session these days to intervene and stop ongoing genocide of Kashmiris and other oppressive measures.
