Army organizes international day against drug abuse
Srinagar: On the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Army had organised an interactive session with the theme “Listen First – Listening to Children and Youth is the first step to help them Grow Healthy and Safe”.
As a part of the session, the Army Doctors interacted and motivated the students of Army Goodwill School, Ziran and also enlightened them on the subject.
Speaking on the occasion, the Army doctors highlighted the importance of this day to fight against drug abuse and drug traffickers and also talked about the various types of drugs and substance abuse including their signs and symptoms. The role of parents and teachers in identifying and helping the children and the youth was also emphasised.
“The students showed overwhelming response to this interactive session and pledged to stay away from drugs. The teaching staff was highly appreciative and thankful to the Army for conducting such educational sessions,” a defense spokesperson said in a statement issued here.
