Referring to low Credit-Deposit Ratio/Loan-to-Deposit Ratio of 44.70% in the district which is 2nd lowest in the state, the DDC directed the bankers to endeavor to achieve a healthy CD ratio as it is an indicator of socio-economic growth.

He directed them to ensure cent percent disbursement in cases sponsored under credit linked schemes as it will increase CD ratio upto 60%. Dr Shahid also said the banks need to boost lending in Priority Sectors for socio-economic development of all sections of the society.

While reviewing achievements under credit linked schemes, the DDC directed the concerned officers to keep a track of all sponsored and sanctioned cases and also inspect the units once the loan is disbursed to arrest chances of misuse of funds.

Project Officer, NULM was asked to submit lists of beneficiaries under Scheme of Shelter for Urban Homeless (SUH) without land or proper revenue records for making land available or necessary corrections in revenue records. Meanwhile, Additional DC were asked to made available shops or rented accommodation for setting income generating units under NULM.

District Officers of line departments were directed to provide case wise list of various sponsored cases which are pending at bank level for want of sanction so that responsibility is fixed in the matter. Moreover, the DDC directed bankers not to direct beneficiaries for undergoing entrepreneurship development training without disbursement of 1st installment of loan as it’s against the laid down procedures and discourage beneficiaries from taking up self employment avenues.

It was impressed that District Task Force Committee should meet regularly to scrutinize and select cases of genuine and interested candidates for further processing. It will discourage the practice of bulk sponsoring which is root cause of huge pendency of cases at bank level.

The bankers were asked to conduct financial literacy camps in collaboration with line departments on regular basis to educate the rural masses about benefits entailed under schemes initiated by financial institutions and central & state government.

The meeting also discussed the importance of organising product specific camps like financial inclusion, housing loan melas, education loan fairs, MSME seminars etc in dissemination of information to targeted groups.

Among others, ADC Koteranka Shafiq Ahmad, ADC Sunderbani Gurmukh Singh, GM DIC A.Q Mir, ACD Akhtar Qazi, DPO Dr Abdul Khabir, District Officers of line departments, BDOs, AGM RBI, Cluster Head J&AK Bank and District Coordinators of SBI, PNB, HDFC, UBI, Gramin Bank and Axis Bank attended the meeting.
