Police arrests man wanted in death case from MP

Jammu, Jun 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a man wanted in a death by negligence case from his hometown of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, officials claimed today.

Vikram Parihar, a resident of Kalorh Kalah village of Dabra in Gwalior district, was arrested by a special police team at his hometown and was brought here, a police spokesman said.

He said the team of Bari Brahmana police station personnel in Samba district was constituted after specific information was received about his whereabouts.

The spokesman said Parihar is a wanted criminal and a case under various sections of Ranbir Penal Code including causing death by negligence stands registered against him since last year.

Meanwhile, an alleged narcotic smuggler was arrested in Jakhani village of Udhampur district after 2.10 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession, the spokesman said.

The accused identified as Umar Jaan, a resident of housing colony Udhampur, and said a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against him.
