“We are being supplied impure water, which has caused infectious intestinal diseases to most of the residents here,” they said.

A delegation comprising of locals said that they are getting water supply from WSS Surasyar but unfortunately the potable water they are getting is polluted, thus risking the lives of residents here.

They said that they approached to the higher ups several times in this regard but nothing has been done in this regard.

“We demand authorities to look into the matter at an earliest and provide clean potable water to thousands of residents so that they can heave a sigh of relief,” they said.

Meanwhile, Exen PHE division Chadoora, Ghulam Rasool Laherwal refuted the allegations leveled by the locals, saying that the residents are getting clean water.

“This might be an issue of an individual as nobody has approached us so far,” he said, adding if anybody is not getting clean water then he should visit them at their office and their grievance will be redressed at an earliest.
