Srinagar: A nine days long ‘Capacity Building Tour’ comprising 25 students and 05 teachers from five different schools of Baramulla district organised by the Army, was flagged off by the General Officer Commanding Dagger Division at Baramulla.

A defense spokesman in a statement said that the tour is scheduled to visit Delhi from 27 June to 05 July 2018 which will provide a unique opportunity for the children from Valley to see the rich cultural heritage and renowned historical places of India. It will also help the children from remote areas to experience ongoing developmental activities in other states and the advantages of peace prevailing there.

The spokesman said that it will also foster brotherhood amongst the school children as well as the people, feeling of unity and creating awareness of our nation’s multi-faceted identity.  The tour also aims at provisioning of industrial and vocational training knowledge to the students through visits to various technological and vocational training hubs of the Army.

“The students and their parents were very enthusiastic about the tour.  The local population and elders from the district have requested Dagger Division to organise many more such tours, so that a larger cross section of the people from the region are able to get an exposure outside the state,” said the spokesman.
