Div Com reviews Guru Hargobind Ji’s birth anniversary arrangements

SRINAGAR, JUNE 23: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today asked the officers to work in close coordination and synergy for smooth celebration of the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Maharaj falling on June 29, 2018.

The Divisional Commissioner was chairing a high-level meeting to review the arrangements for the upcoming festival.

The meeting was informed that the main function would be held at Chatti Padshahi at Kathi Darwaza in Srinagar where thousands of devotees would from various districts are expected to perform special prayers.

Divisional Commissioner asked the Municipal authorities to ensure cleanliness in and around the main venue, besides arranging a sufficient number of dustbins. He asked the Public Health Engineering Department to ensure uninterrupted water supply with an additional water tanker at the venue along with the installation of temporary water taps for sprinkling purpose.  FC&SCA department will ensure proper arrangements for Langer at the venue.

Khan directed PDD to provide uninterrupted power supply throughout the festival day besides conduct safety audit of electricity and repair defunct lights immediately. Fire Services would ensure availability of fire tenders at the venue and other vital points to meet any eventuality.

Similarly, Police authorities were directed to provide security cover with point wise deployment of security personal and sanitization of Gurudwara premises. Likewise, Traffic Department was asked to ensure requisite arrangements for smooth and hassle-free traffic regulation and identify parking slots for vehicles. Health Department was directed to provide fully equipped ambulance with first aid stationed at the venue.

Div Com directed DC Srinagar to visit all Gurudwaras in the City and review on spot arrangements there so that devotees do not face any kind of inconvenience.

It was also informed that birth anniversary of Hargobind Sahib Ji Maharaj shall also be celebrated in other districts of the valley where devotees will offer special prayers in their respective Gurudwaras.

The Divisional Commissioner directed all Deputy Commissioners of the valley to ensure adequate and necessary arrangements well in time for the smooth and hassle-free celebration of the religious event.

DC Srinagar, Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah, Chief Engineer PDD, GM JKSRTC, RTO Kashmir, Superintendent Engineer PHE, Joint Commissioner SMC, SP Traffic, SP Police, Assistant Commissioner, and Representatives of Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee besides other concerned attended the meeting.
