Srinagar, Jun 23: Shutdown was observed in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district today to mourn the killing of four militants and a civilian in a gunfight on Friday.

All shops and other commercial establishments remained closed in Srigufwara, Khiram, Wubzan and Bijbehara town while traffic remained off the roads.

Four militants and a civilian were killed in the gunfight that raged for several hours in Khiram village yesterday.

Over two dozen civilians were also injured in clashes that erupted near the site of the gunfight. One of the injured, identified as Shahid Nazir, remains admitted at SKIMS Soura where his condition is stated to be critical.
