Female teacher drowns in Ganderbal

Srinagar, Jun 20: A 25-year-old teacher drowned in a river in Gagangeer area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday while she was taking a selfie during an excursion.

An official said that Kulsuma Rashid (25), a resident of Badampora Ganderbal, slipped into Sindh Nallah near Ahsan resort while she was taking pictures during a school picnic.

She was a teacher at Starland Secondary School, Badampura.

Police said the woman accidentally fell into the stream. “The deceased lady is missing and is feared to have drowned,” police said, adding that efforts are on to trace her.
