SRINAGAR, JUNE 18: The Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today mourned the killing of senior Journalist and Chief-in-Editor of Rising Kashmir.

A two-minute silence was also observed by the Committee in respect of the departed soul.

The Committee which met here today under the Chairmanship of MLA, Ali Mohammad Sagar discussed the CAG’s Audit Paras pertaining to the different departments, besides strategy for upcoming meeting of the Committee and work load of pending petitions before the Committee.

Legislators, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Asgar Ali Karbalai, Ranbir Singh Pathania, Abdul Majid Larmi and Mohammad Khursheed Alam attended the meeting and gave their suggestions to make the Committee more viable and result oriented.

The Committee asked the Government to issue a circular to the all departments regarding timely submission of their reply to the Assembly Secretariat and furnish the same to the Chairman and members of the Committee at least three-days prior to the next meeting.

The Committee directed the AG Audit to ensure that the reply is provided in the shape of chronological order for the convenience of the members as well as Chairman of the Committee.

The Committee also directed the Secretary, Assembly to provide requisite reply received from the different departments and send the same to members of the Committee on their email addresses so that they can go through it and prepare accordingly.

The Chairman asked the members of the Committee to attend the meeting of the Committee regularly so that the quorum is maintained. It was also decided in the meeting that Health and Medical Education Department to be discussed in the next meeting of the Committee.

Among others, Secretary, Assembly R L Sharma, Additional Secretary Assembly, M A Baba, Deputy Secretary, Assembly Farooq Ahmed Khan besides other officers and officials of Assembly Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
