Ganderbal, 18 June: Casual laborers of Forest department Ganderbal (Forest division Sind) on Monday staged a protest near District Forest Office (DFO) against “wage disparity”.
While raising slogans against the department, the casual laborers demanded equal wages for all.
A protesting casual laborer said, “Majority of casual laborers are paid 900 rupees wheras others are paid rupees 6750. Why this discrimination? Most of us who are serving in forest department from last one decade have not received the wages from last many months.”
When this reporter visited district forest office (DFO) division Sind for recording official statement, the said office was locked.
