Civilian killed, two others injured in Army firing in Pulwama

Srinagar, Jun 15: A civilian was killed and two others injured after army allegedly opened fire on protesters in Nowpora village of Pulwama district on Friday.

Reports said that “Army troopers of 55 RR opened fire after the residents resisted their attempts to vandalise the property of a local militant Saju Mir.”

Three persons, including a girl, were injured in the army action, they said.

The injured were rushed to District Sospital Pulwama where from Viqas Ahmad Rather (24) was referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar. He was declared brought dead at the hospital.

The injured girl, identified as Ruqaya Jan, has received bullet injuries in hips, said a source at District Hospital Pulwama.
