Naqash visits Hazratbal, Eidgah, Sonwar shrine, takes stock of arrangements for Eid prayers

SRINAGAR, JUNE 14: Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development, Health, Medical Education and Social Welfare, Asiea Naqash today visited Hazratbal Shrine, Eidgah and Sonwar shrine to take stock of final arrangements for the ensuing auspicious day of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Minister took stock of basic facilities being provided by the concerned department with regard to sanitation, uninterrupted water and power facilities and other civil works of cleanliness in and around the Hazratbal Shrine, Eidgah and Sonwar Shrine.

During the visit she was informed by the concerned about the arrangements of security, electricity, water supply, cleanliness, fire service, transport and medical aid which have been put in place for devotees in these places.

During her visit to Hazratbal Shrine Asiea directed the authorities to ensure proper cleanliness in and around the Shrine, separate arrangement for women, necessary arrangement of tents to cover maximum open space around the shrine and matting on the open paths so that devotes get relief from the intense heat while offering prayers.

While reviewing arrangements at Eidgah the Minister was informed that 3 ambulances including one critical care ambulance, 8 officials with necessary medicines and first aid boxes will be deployed at the Eidgah by health department.

Similarly, 3 water tankers and 70 tap points are also installed by PHE department and mobile toilet vans are also placed by SMC outside the Eidgah.

It was further informed that public announcement system, stage construction and matting for Eidgah lawns is arranged by the WAKF Board.

She stressed on the officers that large gatherings are expected at these places and it is important to ensure adequate facilities for the devotees are put in place so that no difficulty will be observed by them.

Asiea issued on spot directions to the concerned officers as well as to the field staff for ensuring proper sanitation in and around Sonwar shrine where Eid prayers will be held. He also called for cleanliness of lanes and bye lanes leading to places of congregational prayers.

She stressed all concerned officers to work in letter and spirit and in close coordination for the hassle-free and successful culmination of the big congregation in the capital city.
