Students call off protest after Govt. attaches Principal Hr Sec Budgam

Budgam, June 13: One day after students’ protest in Budgam, government on Wednesday attached Principal, Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Budgam over alleged allegations of using derogatory language against the students.

According to order No.ADCB/PS/2018/164-68, dated 13-06-2018, the Principal has been ordered to report to the office of Deputy Commissioner.

“Mohammad Usman Malik, Principal Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Budgam shall report to the office of Deputy Commissioner for further duties,” reads the order.

It adds: “In addition to his owns duties, Farooq Ahmad Raina, District Education Planning Officer Budgam shall hold the charge of Principal.”

Pertinently, students on Wednesday had again blocked Budgam-Beerwah road, after they found that their Principal was present at the school.

While talking to reporters, Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Farooq said, “I request students to attend their classes as we have accepted their immediate demand.” Farooq added that physical teacher will also be transferred.

When asked that Principal was using derogatory language against students, he said, “On the directions of DC sahab, we are going to hold a full-fledged enquiry and those found guilty will be held accountable.”

Meanwhile, Directorate of School Education Kashmir has constituted a committee to enquire the protest against Principal and submit report within one week.

According to order No. DHSK/PS/379, the committee shall include Joint Director Education Central, Abid Hussain as Chairman,
