Srinagar, June 12: Two policemen were killed and another critically injured after militants attacked police post guarding the new court complex in Pulwama district of south Kashmir.
Official sources told GNS that a group of militants opened fire upon the police post resulting in on spot death of two security guards and injury to another at Takiya Wagam opposite to Government Degree College Pulwama near Barpora Kareemabad.
The injured cop Manzoor Ahmad has been shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment, they said.
The militants after carrying out the deadly attack decamped with two service rifles from the slain cops, they said.
The deceased cops have been identified as Selection Grade Constables Ghulam Rasool and Ghulam Hassan.
SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam Choudhary told GNS that two cops were killed and another suffered injuries.
