Jammu, Jun 09: A suspected drug peddler was arrested after five kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from his possession in Udhampur district, police said today.
Rahul Sharma, a resident of Pakhlai village, was arrested on a specific information from Udhampur town, a police official said.
He said that Sharma was moving under suspicious circumstances when he was intercepted by the police. A search led to the recovery of huge quantity of poppy straw.
A case has been registered at Udhampur Police Station and further investigation taken up, the official said.
