“Devotees thronged in thousands at each place and offered prayers with religious fervour. Everywhere, Muslims benefited from the atmosphere of devotion and congregational spirit. Holy places bore an impressive look. Devotees seeking blessings as a matter of faith prayed for peace and prosperity, besides earning the Almighty’s favours,” he said adding that the devotees committed themselves to obedience to Holy Quran and service to mankind.

Bhat while appreciating the collective zeal, appealed Muslim ummah to show respect towards institutions raised over the decades for sustaining the true spirit of service to the community as ordained by Islam.

He said Wakf is one such institution which reflects collective will of the community to protect Muslim assets, perpetuate with honour the traditions and create a collective trust for welfare of deprived Muslims.

This institution, he said, has been fulfilling this duty with fidelity and deserves support in the larger interests of the Ummah and its heritage.

Bhat said similar spirit will prevail on the upcoming pious occasions of Shab-e-Qadar and Eid-ul-Fitr to allow respectful culmination of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
