Govt working to provide uninterrupted electricity supply to Srinagar city: Div Com

SRINAGAR, JUNE 05: In order to provide better electricity supply to city consumers, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a meeting regarding transfer of land to Power Development Department (PDD) for the construction of three Grid Stations in Srinagar.

The meeting was informed that PDD will construct 220/33KV Grid Station at Batapora Tailbal (160MVA), 132/33KV Grid Station at Tangpora (3×50) and 132/33KV Grid Station at Khanyar (100MVA) under PMDP-2015 Scheme.

The Divisional Commissioner stressed on completion of the transfer of land to the PDD on expedited mode.

He directed District Collector (Land Acquisition) to complete the Private Negotiation Committee (PNC) within a timeframe. In case the land owners do not agree, then Compulsory mode of acquisition will be adopted without further delay so that the work on these Grid Stations will be started soon.

The Divisional Commissioner reiterated that government is working round the clock to provide better and uninterrupted electricity supply to the consumers especially to the city habitants.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Managing Director J&K Industries, Chief Engineer UEED, Chief Engineer S&O (Wing), Chief Engineer EM&RE, Engineers from PGCIL, Assistant Commissioner, Collector PDD and other concerned officers were present in this meeting.
