BANDIPORA, JUNE 04: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Sonawari Mohammed Akbar Lone today distributed bicycles free of cost among 38 fishermen of Sonawari constituency at a function organized by Fisheries Department at Fish Farm, Manasbal
The bicycles are being distributed under Blue Revolution Scheme for Post Harvesting Management.
The main objective of the scheme is to facilitate the fish farmers so that they can timely manage marketing of the fish production.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA asked the concerned officer to make people fully aware about all schemes by conducting awareness Programmes across the district. He also asked the people including educated youth to avail benefits from the welfare schemes launched by the government.
Assistant Director Fisheries on the occasion informed that under Blue Revolution Scheme, 150 bicycles was the target out of which 112 have already been provided to fishermen at Bandipora, while as rest 38 bicycles were distributed here today.
Assistant Director Fish Farm Mansbal Mohammad Hussain besides fisheries field staff and fish farmers were present on the occasion.
