Grenade attacks in Tral, Anantnag

Srinagar, Jun 03: Militants, believed to be two in number, came on a motorcycle and attacked a police post guarding the National Conference leader Abdul Rashid Nangroo in New Colony Pulwama.

“They tried to snatch the weapons from the police men deployed there. However, the cops opened fire, forcing the militants to escape from the spot” the official added.

Meanwhile, militants on Sunday lobbed a rifle grenade at a 42 RR camp in Mandoora area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Sources said that the grenade was lobbed at 42 RR army camp in Tral area which exploded near boundary wall.

So far no reports of any injuries have been received.

Militants attacked Police Post Sherbagh in Anantnag with grenade Sunday evening.

Sources said that the grenade exploded outside the post and there were no injuries or casualties reported.

Police and other security forces have cordoned the area, sources added.
