Political empowerment of women imperative for decision making: Bimla Luthra
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

R S PURA JUNE 02- National Conference leader and former MLA Bimla Luthra on Saturday exhorted people to stand against divisive forces, who were exploiting regional and religious sentiments to further their nefarious political agenda in a pluralistic state like Jammu and Kashmir.

Welcoming a group of women activists, mostly from the BJP, into National Conference fold at a function at Salehar Kothen here this afternoon, Bimla Luthra said that the state is facing numerous challenges unfolded by opportunistic parties like PDP and the BJP, adding that these can be met by maintaining unity and tranquility.

Bimla Luthra said National Conference is the only party that can steer out the State from the present morass and ensure equitable development of all, irrespective of region or religion, caste or creed. She said the politically sagacious people have to play their important role in heralding peace and strengthening the bonds of unity and brotherhood between various segments of society.

The former MLA expressed the hope that joining of the women workers will further strengthen the party at grass roots level. She said National Conference has always espoused the cause of women and taken several initiatives for their emancipation and empowerment. She said the women have a great role to play in decision making and for this their political empowerment is imperative.
