NIA raids Srinagar central jail

Srinagar, June 3 (GNS): National Investigation Agency(NIA) along with SOG and CRPF conducted raids last night in parts of Shopian of south Kashmir and arrested many youths.
Official sources told GNS that during the raids in Shopian parts, including Memander and Aliyarpora,  many youths were picked up by the NIA.
There was no official confirmation with regard to the raids and subsequently arrests made by the NIA during raids.
However, sources said that the raids were conducted following the arrest of Tariq Ahmad Dar, 34, of Chillipura of Shopian by NIA in connection with 2016 Nagrota army camp attack case.
The NIA in a statement had said, Tariq is a timber dealer at Pulwama and was “involved in assisting Pakistani militant who carried out the attack.”
“Tariq disclosed during interrogation that the attack was carried out by the Jaish-e-Mohammad,” the statement had said.
It had claimed that his revelations “corroborate disclosures made by the previously arrested accused Muneer-Ul- Hassan Qadri of Kupwara who had revealed that he along with other valley-based operatives were in touch with the JeM leadership in Pakistan and had received a freshly infiltrated group of three Pakistani militants a day before the attack.”
“They subsequently stayed at a hotel in Jammu and then left the attackers at Nagrota outside the Army camp late at night and proceeded to the Kashmir valley,” it claimed.
“The accused was arrested with active assistance of the J&K police. After arrest, Tariq is being brought from Srinagar to Jammu to be produced before the NIA special judge for seeking police custody,” it had added.
