Kohli distributes free chicks, medicine among NLM beneficiaries

SAMBA, JUNE 02: Minister for Animal Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries today distributed 200 birds (chicks), 25 bags of maize, medicines and feeder bottles among 18 beneficiaries of National Live Stock Mission (NLM) – a central government scheme.

A total 70 beneficiaries have been selected by the District level Committee for providing NLM benefits, of which 61 have been benefitted till date.

Speaking on the occasion Kohli said that such step will help rural people in improving their economic conditions. He also appreciated the department for organizing such events. He   directed the department for creation of mass awareness about the scheme so that benefits percolate down to grassroots level.

Also present were DDC   S Rajinder Singh Tara, Director Animal Husbandry, SSP Anil Magotra, JD & DD Poultry and Chief Animal Husbandry Officer.
