Army pays tributes to slain trooper

Srinagar: Army today paid tributes to Late Sep Raman Kumar who lost his life in Kashmir’s frontier sector of Uri in Baramulla district on 01 June 2018 during a landslide.

In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks, paid homage to the deceased on behalf of a proud nation.

Late Sep Raman Kumar was part of an Operational Team which was serving in the formidable heights along the Line of Control in Uri and got swept away due to a landslide during patrolling. The Rescue Teams, through their concerted efforts, evacuated him to Rampur where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Sep Raman Kumar, was 23 years old and had joined the Army in 2014. He belonged to Village Depur of Mukerian Tehsil in Hoshiyarpur District of Punjab and is survived by his parents.

The mortal remains were flown for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with full military honours.
