Market Checking Conducted in Kupwara

KUPWARA, MAY 29: Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kupwara under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Khalid Jahangir today conducted market checking in main town Kupwara.

Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar Kupwara, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Municipal Committee Kupwara, SHO Kupwara and field functionaries of concerned departments accompanied the ACR.

The checking was aimed at ensuring the quality and price control and to keep vigil on erring traders.

During the inspection, Rs. 1500 were recovered as fine from erring traders. A large quantity of polythene was seized, besides 150 Kg rotten vegetable and contaminated spices were also destroyed on the spot.

On the occasion, the ACR said that several committees have already been constituted at Tehsil levels so that such drives can also be launched at other places in the district.

Meanwhile, the ACR impressed upon authorities to ensure hassle-free movement of commuters by acting against street encroachers.
