Teachers stage protest over non payment of salaries in Tangmarg

Tangmarg :Dozens of teachers including female teachers held a protest here in Tangmarg area of Baramulla district against government for not releasing their salaries from past four months which not gives mental agony to teachers but their families suffer alike.

The teachers allege that the government has diverted the funds of central government meant for salary which delays the salary every time for months together.

The SSA teachers salaries are 90℅ paid by MHRD and 10℅ by state government but the lack of communication between state and central govt is delYinh the salaries every time which gives continuous headache and mental torture to teachers working under this scheme,the agitating teachers said.

Naseer Ahmad a teacher working under SSA said, ” We have been demanding state govt to streamline our salaries and release all salaries from state budget but instead of solving the problem the authorities are lingering the issue every time which delays the salaries and compels teachers to hit the streets to press the demands.

Another teacher Rameez Ahmad said, ” Every time the salary is delayed for months now we demand that all pending salaries for four months salary should be released to avoid protests and thereby streamline the salaries once for ever so that we and our families should not suffer further”.

The teachers demanded immediate release of their salaries lest they will took to streets and will block Srinagar Gulmarg road and for any incident govt will be responsible itself.
