Secy Tourism reviews finalization of capital expenditure 2018-19

SRINAGAR, MAY 23: Secretary Tourism Department, Rigzin Samphael today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Tourism Development Authorities and finalization of CAPEX Budget 2018-19.

The Secretary enjoined upon the CEOs of Development Authorities to undertake Geographic Information System mapping in their respective jurisdictions of tourism assets.

It was also directed to ensure the conduct of Environmental Impact Assessment of the destinations through professionals in the field. The officers were directed to ensure proper waste management and sanitation at the tourist destinations.

The CEOs were also directed to prioritize completion of those ongoing projects which have a lesser financial implication.

Rigzin Samphael also laid emphasis on the creation of wayside amenities like toilets for tourists. Issues related to the set targets, achievements of the development authorities also came up for discussion during the meeting.
