Rifle snatching attempt foiled ; says police

Srinagar, May 21: Militants on Monday attacked a police post guarding the Sikh minority community at Saidpora village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Confirming the incident SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam Choudary told GNS that a group of Militants attacked the post and the fire was retaliated by the cops.

The timely retaliatory action by the policemen foiled the rifle snatching bid, SSP said.

He said that the cops posted in the police post guarding the Sikh minority community.

However, SSP said that no one suffered injuries in the exchange of fire on the either side.

He further said that a case has been registered and further investigation taken up.
