Srinagar, May 20: Police in Kulgam has arrested a drug peddler and recovered 18 grams of brown sugar from his possession.
A police spokesman, in a statement issued here today, said that on the directions of SSP Kulgam Harmeet Singh, a police party of Kulgam police headed by SHO Qazigund Tanveer Ahmad laid a naka near Upper Bazar Qazigund.
During naka checking, a suspected person, identified as Shahzad Ahmad Padder alias Shahlal son of Gull Mohammad Padder resident of Malwan Devsar was intercepted. On his search, 18 grams of brown sugar was recovered from his possession.
“A case FIR number 121/2018 under section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation is going on. More arrests and recoveries are expected,” said the spokesman.
