The meeting was informed about various steps taken by the departments for ensuring adequate power and water services to the public. It was informed that over 39 new stages of different water supply schemes shall be commissioned shortly which will bring respite to the public as far as water supply is concerned.

The DDC, while referring to the depleting water resources due to dry weather, directed the concerned to repair leakages and maintain water pumps well at pumping stations to avoid disruption during the peak summer and holy month of Ramzan.

He also impressed upon the officials to remain present at their station, conduct field visits, maintain close liaison with the public, frame effective power and water supply schedules and also respond to the grievances of public on real time basis. He said these steps are the key to building confidence among the public about functioning of the departments and many a times avoid law and order situation arising out of shortage of these essential services.

“With the transformer bank established in the district, the damaged transformers should be replaced without lapse of time”, the DDC said adding there should be no power cut during Sehri, Iftaar and Traavi times.
