ANANTNAG, MAY 19: District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik, today chaired a meeting to review the status of directions passed by Chief Minister during her public outreach programme and overall developmental scenario in the district.

Taking a detailed stock of ongoing works, the DDC was informed that repairing and renovation of Ziyarat Shareef at Anzwala is in progress and construction of truss and panelling of the Ziyarat has been completed, while as work is in progress on the minaret, which will be completed within 15 days.

The DDC instructed the concerned to prepare a DPR to the tune of Rs 10 lakh for the landscaping of the park at said Ziyarat.

With regard to PHE, SE Hydraulics informed the meeting that among others an estimate of Rs 75 lakh has been prepared for the replacement of pipes of old water supply Scheme Kehribal, besides a DPR to the tune of Rs 336.50 lakh has been submitted for the construction of overhead tank for water supply at Kochipora

It was given out that proposal for the setting up of cold storage at Kehribal has been submitted to the government under NABARD. Further, for establishing Fruit Mandi, 25 kanals of land have been identified at Kehribal.

With regard to R&B sector, the meeting was informed that work on various projects is in progress and among others, a DPR to the tune of Rs 165 lakh has been prepared for the macadamization of Ranbirpora road. Similarly, a DPR has been submitted for the widening and improvement of Harnag to Khannabal road, while as Harnag to Achabal Adda road stands macadamized, besides feasibility is being explored for a separate entrance for the Police Post at Janglatmabdi.

Further, the meeting was informed that ATM for Wanpoh has been sanctioned and will be installed within one month, facility of Open Air Gymnasium at Wazirbagh will be made available soon, survey for establishment of Animal Husbandry Unit at Sichen has been done and report submitted to the Director, while as 20 street lights each at Utrsoo, Chinar Chowk Mir Dantar, Rampora will be installed soon.

It was given out that levelling of the playground at TB Shah has been completed by J&K Sports council. The DDC instructed the concerned to start the work on fencing of the said playground. The Youth service & Sports department Anantnag was instructed to frame the estimate amounting Rs. 30 lakh for construction of a playground at Mir Dabntar .

Works under Power, Education, Health and other sectors were also reviewed threadbare.

On the occasion, the DDC directed all the concerned departments to make concerted efforts in ensuring the timely implementation of the directions passed by the Chief Minister within the stipulated time. He also directed to ensure that the quality of the works is not compromised with.

Among others, the meeting was attended by SEs of R&B, PDD, Hydraulics, CMO Anantnag, Exens of PHE & PDD, Deputy General Manager JKPCC, Officers of Youth Services & Sports & J&KS ports Council, AD Tourism, CPO, DEPO and other district officers.
