Army recruitment rally in progress at Bandipora

Srinagar: An Army Recruitment Rally is being organised at Sonarwani, Bandipora from 16 May 2018 to 23 May 2018 covering the districts of Bandipora, Kupwara, Ganderbal, Baramulla, Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag and Kulgam. A total no of 8946 candidates have registered for screening.

Brig Jagdeep Dahiya, Deputy Director General Recruiting (DDG), (Punjab and J&K), informed that the candidates are being screened for their physical fitness, medical examination and documentation. Successful candidates will then undergo written test on 29 Jul 2018 at Sonarwani, Bandipora. Candidates selected will then be inducted into various arms and services of the Army. This will go a long way in meeting the aspirations of youth of the area who wish to join the Army and serve the nation.

A defense spokesman said that the rally is being organised by Headquarter Recruiting Zone (Punjab and J&K). There would be similar rallies to give greater opportunity to all aspirants of J&K state.

He said that a total of five rallies are being conducted in J&K out of which, two, for the first time are being conducted for border areas i.e. Tangdhar and Gurez.
