Srinagar, May 13: Police on Sunday claimed to have recovered a minor boy from the captivity of his abductor.
Police spokesman said police Station Sopore had received a written complaint from one Ghulam Rasool Sofi of Sopore stating that his minor nephew was kidnapped near Shalimar Colony on May 11 during evening hours.
After registering a case, police during investigations arrested the kidnapper — Shaheen Hassan Bhat of Rebban Sopore — who had allegedly also sodomized the minor boy, spokesman said.
After completion of medical formalities the minor boy was handed over to his family.
A case (FIR No 122/2018) under section 363,377 RPC stands registered in Police Station Sopore in this regard.
