A statement issued by a party spokesman said that vice chairman of JKLF advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt while leading a peaceful protest against innocent killings in Kashmir said that a nation that has resolved to achieve freedom cannot be intimidated by military might.

“On Joint Resistance Leadership call, JKLF leaders and activists today staged a peaceful protest against unabated killing spree in Kashmir. Earlier thousands of people offered funeral prayers in absentia for recently martyred innocent Kashmiris in various parts of Kashmir. After the funeral prayers, a peaceful protest rally was held in which people from all walks of life including JKLF vice chairmen Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt and Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi participated,” the spokesman said.

He said that protesters marched towards Lal Chowk and staged a sit-in near Budshah Chowk. The sit-in was addressed by JKLF vice chairman Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt and others.

“A Joint resolution of Joint resistance leadership (JRL) was also read out and passed on the occasion,” added the spokesman.
