Mahayan-XI bowlers prove too much for Gulmarg Kings

Wednesday, May 09: In the first match of the day, Mahayan-XI locked horns with Gulmarg Kings in the ongoing ‘Kunzer Premier League’ played at Kunzer sports field. Gulmarg Kings skipper opted to bat first after winning the toss but the team couldn’t post a decent target for the opponent team. Ayaz and Ishfaq scored 22 runs each as Gulmarg Kings managed to post meager 109 runs in allotted 18 overs. For Mahayan-XI, Tanveer, Nadeem and Nasir scalped 2 wickets each.

In reply, Mahayan-XI lost opener Naveed in the second over. Ishfaq was then joined by Showkat and both went berserk at the bowlers of Gulmarg Kings. Showkat remained the highest scorer for Mahayan-XI scoring 47* runs while as Ishfaq added fiery 31 runs as well. Mahayan-XI won the match by 8 wickets and Showkat was undoubtedly adjudged as man of the match.
