Divisional Commissioner Kashmir will fortnightly review the rehabilitation and relocation process.

Bukhari said the families living along Jhelum at Sheikhpora Chinar Bagh and the families living in the houseboats on the river will be relocated to the identified plots at Bemina.

He directed the officials to complete the earth filling process of the plots near Maternity Hospital Bemina within a month so that the plot layout can be done in 15 days thereafter. He said the possession of the plots shall be given to the identified families after 45 days and directed officials to expedite the process so that families can be relocated on time.

With regard to the rehabilitation of the families living along Jhelum in Batamaloo and Eidgah constituencies, Minister said 160 kanals have been identified at Rakh-e-Gund-Aksha and process is on to relocate the families.

The meeting was further informed that 57 left-out families living along Chunt Kol are being relocated at Rakh-e-Arth and will be handed over to the beneficiaries within 15 days. It was said that LAWDA will earmark 20 Kanals separately for allotment of these plots in favour of families of Chunt Kol other than the 57 families.

Officials further said commercial structures at Chunti Kol shall be dismantled by the district administration and LAWDA within one month and the affected families will be rehabilitated subsequently.
