Srinagar: Joint separatist leadership today announced that strike across Kashmir will continue on Tuesday also against the killings in Shopian.

“Imposition of curfew in entire downtown and caging the entire resistance leadership reflects frustration and acceptance of defeat by the government,” the leadership said in a statement

Meanwhile, the government has decided that class work in all government and private educational institutions will remain suspended on Tuesday (May 08).

The decision has been taken as a “precautionary measure”,  official sources said.

In the meantime, all Kashmir University examinations scheduled to be held on Tuesday have been postponed.

A spokesman of the university said the fresh dates for the deferred examinations will be notified separately, later.

“Class work, as already announced, shall also remain suspended on Tuesday,” he said.

The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) has also deferred all its exams scheduled for Tuesday, and there will also be no class-work.
