Denounces innocent killings

Srinagar: APHC chairman Syed Ali Geelani was placed under house arrest on Monday when he tried to defy house arrest restrictions in a bid to march towards Civil Secretariat Srinagar but was detained by police deployed outside his residence.

A spokesman of Hurriyat (G) in a statement said that Geelani denounced innocent killings and “forces’ atrocities” on common people during anti-militancy operations in South Kashmir.

Geelani while calling an end to this bloodshed said that the south Kashmir has been turned into a battle field. Lashing at puppet regime, Geelani said that since past seven decades forces are mercilessly killing people on one pretext or the other and added that latest bloodbath on Sunday proved that Indian authorities and puppet rulers have virtually turned state into a butcher house.

Referring to the increasing incidents of encounters, Geelani said, “a few black sheep in our ranks are working as informers of the armed forces and they are responsible for brutal killings of our brave hearts. They for petty gains are providing inputs to the force and are accountable for their wrongdoings and devilish deeds”, Geelani said.

He also addressed telephonically the mourners who attended slain University teacher’s funeral.

Geelani in his address to youth stressed to illustrate steadfastness and commitment with ongoing resistance against Indian occupation and cautioned the people against divide and rule policy of pro-Indian factions and stressed to forge unity among all those pursuing sacred mission.
