Women, youth empowerment priority of Mehbooba-led Govt: Mir

SRINAGAR, MAY 04: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Mohammed Ashraf Mir, today held a meeting of Zonal Committee to convey gratitude to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for giving representation to Sonawar constituency in her cabinet.

The meeting, attended by prominent citizens of the city, particularly from Sonawar constituency, and hundreds of young men and women among others, was convened at the Srinagar residence of the Minister.

The participants resolved that youth and women empowerment will remain the focus of the government in coming days and proper mechanisms will be put in place to ensure that the problems faced by them in their day to day life are resolved at the earliest.

“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, the government has taken a slew of measures aimed at youth and women empowerment which will go a long way in tackling various socio-economic issues facing our society. Today we must all resolve to take her vision forward and see to it that it gets implemented on ground,” the Minister said.

Thanking the participants for showing enthusiasm and turning up in large numbers to attend the meeting, the Minister said the state government has undertaken up major developmental projects which will change the way of life in  Srinagar city and also benefit the residents in the long run.
